App Metadata Duplicate Keyword Checker
Enter your app's name, subtitle and keywords: the tool lists the words that appear twice and works out the space lost.
Privacy and cost
This tool runs in your browser. What you type or paste is not sent to our servers and it costs nothing to use.
How it works
- Enter the name (or title), the subtitle and the comma-separated keyword field.
- The tool ignores stop words, treats singular and plural as one word and lists every word found more than once, with its fields.
- It computes the bytes wasted, suggests a keyword field with no repeats and lists word pairs across fields.
Example
Name "PulseFit: Home Workouts", subtitle "Strength, cardio and yoga", keywords "fitness, workout, gym, exercise, training, cardio, abs, stretch, timer, coach": "workouts/workout" repeats between name and keywords (9 bytes) and "cardio" between subtitle and keywords (7 bytes). Total: 16 bytes wasted, 14 distinct words.
What the result means
Each repeat uses room in a limited field without adding a new word. Wasted bytes count the word and its comma or space. Word pairs show what words from different fields can form; the tool does not say which of them you would rank for, nor their search volume.
Common problems this tool helps with
- The same word in the name and the keyword field works once but costs twice.
- A subtitle that reuses words from the name reduces the variety of words covered.
- Singular and plural of one word take two places for a single word.
- The keyword field is limited to 100 bytes: every duplicate takes a place from a new word.
Frequently asked questions
Should I repeat a word from the name in the keyword field?
There is no point: the name is already used for search, so the repeat only spends bytes. The tool flags these cases.
Are singular and plural really the same word?
The tool groups them with a simple rule (good practice) and shows both forms; use your judgment in your language.
Does this tool also work for Google Play?
You can enter the title and short texts, but the keyword field and bytes are specific to the App Store. For Google Play use the metadata validator.
