App Store Title Checker

Type your app name and subtitle to check the App Store's 30-character limits, repeated words and the word pairs your text can form.

Privacy and cost

This tool runs in your browser. What you type or paste is not sent to our servers and it costs nothing to use.

How it works

  1. Type the app name, then the subtitle: the counters update as you type.
  2. Each field is compared with the official App Store Connect limit, and claims, price words and repeated symbols are flagged.
  3. You see the distinct words in name and subtitle, the ones repeated across them and the word pairs the text can form.

Example

"PulseFit: Home Workouts" (23 characters) with the subtitle "Strength, cardio and yoga" (25 characters): both fit in 30 characters, 6 distinct words, no repeats, 9 possible word pairs.

What the result means

The name and the subtitle are each limited to 30 characters, and Apple refuses or cuts what goes over. A word that appears in both fields takes space without adding a new word. Word pairs show what the wording can form; this tool knows nothing about search volume or rankings.

Common problems this tool helps with

  • An app name over 30 characters is rejected by App Store Connect.
  • A subtitle that repeats words from the name wastes part of its 30 characters.
  • Terms like "#1", "free" or "best" in the name or subtitle risk breaching Apple's guideline 2.3.7 (accurate, relevant metadata, no pricing information).
  • Every character counts, spaces and punctuation included: a colon and two spaces cost 3 characters.

Frequently asked questions

What is the maximum length of an iOS app name?

30 characters, with a minimum of 2, according to Apple's App Store Connect help. The subtitle is also limited to 30 characters.

Do spaces count toward the 30 characters?

Yes. Every character is counted, including spaces and punctuation.

Does this tool give the search volume of my words?

No. It only checks the text you type: length, repeats and risky wording. It has no volume, ranking or competition data.
