App Description Keyword Density

Paste your app description to see which words and phrases come up most, as a percentage of the text, and whether one of them is overused.

Privacy and cost

This tool runs in your browser. What you type or paste is not sent to our servers and it costs nothing to use.

How it works

  1. Paste the description and choose the language of the text (English, French, Spanish or Arabic).
  2. The tool ignores that language's stop words, groups singular and plural and computes the share of each word and of 2- and 3-word phrases.
  3. You see the tables, any repetition warning and, if you enter a target phrase, its occurrences.

Example

The PulseFit description (83 words, 46 of them content words): the most repeated word is "workout", 3 times, or 3.61% of words. No word reaches the tool's threshold of 6 repeats, so there is no stuffing warning.

What the result means

Density is the share of the text's words taken by a word or phrase. The tool's alert threshold (over 3% and at least 6 occurrences) is a good-practice guide, not an Apple or Google rule; they only advise against excessive repetition. Density describes the text: it says nothing about search volume or ranking.

Common problems this tool helps with

  • A word repeated over and over makes the description feel artificial and can pass for keyword stuffing.
  • A description that never uses the main term does not show it to the reader.
  • Without stop words filtered, linking words dominate the tables and hide the real terms.
  • Percentages computed on fewer than 50 words do not mean much.

Frequently asked questions

What keyword density is recommended?

There is no official figure. Write to be clear; the tool simply flags a word above 3% with at least 6 occurrences, as a good-practice guide.

Is the iOS description indexed like Google Play's?

Google Play uses listing text for search and warns against repetition. On the App Store the description is not the field to optimize first: that is the name, subtitle and keyword field.

Are stop words handled in my language?

Yes, for English, French, Spanish and Arabic. Choose the language of the text, which can differ from the site's language.
