Person Schema Generator

Describe a person (author, expert, founder): the Person JSON-LD builds live and only filled-in fields appear.

Privacy and cost

This tool runs in your browser. What you type or paste is not sent to our servers and it costs nothing to use.

How it works

  1. Enter the full name, personal page, photo and job title; add the employer (name and URL) if relevant.
  2. List official profiles in sameAs (one per line) and the topics they know in knowsAbout.
  3. Copy the code onto the author or About page and read the self-check.

Example

A fictional author "Jane Example", SEO consultant at "Example Studio", with personal page, photo, 2 sameAs profiles, 2 topics and a city: 0 errors, 0 warnings. With nothing filled in, the tool outputs only @context and @type and flags the missing recommended properties.

What the result means

Person describes who someone is and which profiles are theirs, which can help engines connect an author to their content. Google has no dedicated rich result for Person: the markup helps understanding more than display. Only describe a real person who agrees to it, and only with contact details they want public.

Common problems this tool helps with

  • Publishing a person's private email or phone without their consent.
  • sameAs profiles that are not theirs or no longer exist.
  • An author entered as plain text inside an Article instead of a Person object.
  • A person described in the markup but absent from the visible page content.

Frequently asked questions

What is Person markup for?

Describing a person in a machine-readable way: name, job title, employer, profiles. It is often used as the author of an Article, with the same name and personal page.

Does Google show a rich result for Person?

No, there is no dedicated rich result. The markup helps understanding and consistency of information, with no promise of display.

Can I include personal data?

Only what the person wants public and what already appears on the page. Avoid private email and phone numbers.
