Anchor Text Profile

Enter a domain to see the words used to cite it: brand, URL, generic or exact-match anchors, with the number of links and domains for each.

Temporarily unavailable

This tool depends on an external data provider that is not connected right now. Nothing is charged. Please try again later.

Privacy and cost

This tool uses paid live data. A run costs 10 credits, only charged when it succeeds. Recent identical requests are served from a cache, which keeps costs and prices low.

No subscription required for credits.

How it works

  1. Enter the domain and the number of anchors to show (25, 50 or 100).
  2. The tool queries the provider's backlink index and gets the most used anchors.
  3. The table gives each anchor's links, referring domains and share of the list; the CSV export holds it all.

Example

Domain "example.com", 50 anchors: you see whether the dominant anchors are the brand name, the bare URL, generic words ("click here") or exact keyword phrases.

What the result means

A natural anchor profile is dominated by the brand name, the URL and generic anchors. Many identical keyword-rich anchors may signal artificially built links and deserve a manual review. The share is computed on the anchors listed here, not on every link of the domain.

Common problems this tool helps with

  • Checking that the anchor profile looks natural before or after a link-building campaign.
  • Spotting over-optimization of exact-match anchors.
  • Comparing a competitor's anchor strategy with yours.

Frequently asked questions

What is a good share of exact-match anchors?

There is no official threshold. A natural profile is mostly brand and URL anchors; exact-match anchors stay a minority.

Is an empty anchor a problem?

No: it corresponds to an image link or a link without text, common in natural profiles.

Is the share computed on all links?

No, only on the listed anchors (the most used), which is enough to read the trend.
